Biography
In addition to her Graduate Acting classes, Shane Ann teaches a comprehensive two year voice, speech and Shakespeare program at her Manhattan studio. She has served as Voice Consultant for Broadway, and off-Broadway productions, and at regional theaters including the Guthrie Theater (A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Twelfth Night – both directed by Joe Dowling, and Antony and Cleopatra – directed by Mark Lamos), The Shakespeare Theatre (Cyrano – directed by Michael Kahn), Ford’s Theatre (The Matchmaker – directed by Mark Lamos), The Public Theater, The Vineyard Theatre and The Pearl Theatre. Previously taught at The New York Public Theater’s Summer Shakespeare Lab, the Juilliard School (Drama Division), the Guthrie Experience, the Sedona Shakespeare Institute, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and in NYU’s Undergraduate Drama in the Classical Studio. She has a B.F.A. in Theatre, from Southern Methodist University. She received her voice, speech and Shakespeare training with Robert Neff Williams. Shane Ann’s private classes were included in the documentary television series “The Dream Chasers - Ninety Days in Hollywood.” She is included in the national publication An Actor’s Guide to Qualified Acting Coaches, New York by Larry Silverberg. She is co-author (with Louis Scheeder) of All the Words on Stage: A Complete Pronunciation Dictionary for the plays of William Shakespeare published by Smith and Kraus.
